Visually Vibrant Vancouver Art for your Walls
2020 - where did everyone go?
Since many people were stuck at home in March & April 2020, I felt inspired to document Vancouver devoid of crowds, traffic, etc. The birds, as always, were in flight above, squawking in their many tongues… likely wondering where all the people went.
Vancouver was eerily quiet. The usual sounds of a busy metropolis were replaced with an unnerving silence, I felt quite emotional as I sat on my usual stoop on the steps of the Vancouver Art Gallery. My thoughts were filled with dread and despair. I missed the liveliness, the people hurrying around, the car horns honking, the sound of the buses passing by.
But amidst the emptiness, I still found traces of beauty. People forming solitary shapes amongst the historic architecture of downtown streets, lone souls staring at the horizon at the beach, people clinging to the world they once knew.
Come along and see for yourself…
